Hybrid Ecologies Lab

The Hybrid Ecologies Lab explores scientific research, design, and art through the innovation, development, deployment, and evaluation of novel physical devices and interactive systems that advance computing culture, encourage broad participation by non-experts within science and engineering, improve human health and well-being, and provoke critical debate and inquiry concerning our existing and emerging technological society.

At the Hybrid Ecologies Lab, I am designing and prototyping a flexible packaged system for pressure-based fluidic interactions. Through this interaction, the user is able to push down on a plate onto another plate with fluid. This interaction creates a fluidic interface, leading to random pattern generation when pressure is released. Measurement and modeling of randomness is quite difficult, so this device is used to help quantify common patterns that appear in nature. Advised by Hila Mor.
